I’m late. Friday is nearly over, and I am just getting around to writing my “Weekend Playlist” post. It’s been one of those weeks. Getting Hallie ready to go back to school. Work. Sick day in bed. Work. Business trip. More work. You get the picture. I am SO ready for this last weekend of summer vacation (for Hallie) and some rest and relaxation for me. But I’ll be doing plenty more. Let’s get this weekend started!
Yes, this is literally what I am doing right now. Drinking one of my husband’s home brewed American Amber Ales and writing this blog. And it’s what I plan to do a lot of this weekend! I really need to spend some time working on my blog, writing some posts for later in the week, and brainstorming ideas for future posts. Oh, and drinking some beer. (It is the weekend, after all!) Brett has been a home brewer since I met him 15 years ago. His beers have won many awards. And he keeps us fully stocked with a variety of beers: IPA, Octoberfest, American Pale Ale, Brown, Irish Red, Hefeweizen. Stout. His beer is really good, y’all. If you drink beer or want to know more about making it, check out his blog Bluff City Brewing.
Training for the Zooma Nashville Women’s Half Marathon officially begins on Saturday. I am very excited to be part of a training group again, thanks to Fleet Feet Nashville. Our group run starts at 7 a.m. and I can’t wait to meet the other ladies in my pace group! (More posts on this to come.)
It’s supposed to be a beautiful Nashvegas weekend. After my group run, we plan to take a short family hike through Percy Warner Park on Saturday afternoon. Looking forward to family time and the cooler temperatures.Tax Free Weekend
It’s that special weekend in Tennessee when sales tax is waived for school supplies and clothes. Hallie is good to go with both supplies and uniforms, but I may venture out Sunday for some finds of my own. Click here for info from the state on what is tax free — and what is not.
