Out with the old. In with the new. That is the mission for this weekend. To get ready for fall we are going to clean out the closets and clear the clutter. Well, at least we are going to start. To be honest, it’s probably going to take more than one weekend. I have to have some fun after all! So let’s get to it.
Dinner with friends
We’re going to catch up Friday night with friends we haven’t seen for a while. And we’re eating Mexican. A margarita to start my weekend? Yes!
Half marathon training run
It’s week two and we’re up to four miles. The positive: we’re meeting at Whole Foods so I’ll get a yummy green juice afterward. The negative: I only ran once this week. That’s not going to cut it as the mileage increases. Should be OK this week, though.
We moved four years ago into a Nashville neighborhood with a closed, empty, old shopping mall. I never quite understood why it stands vacant, as we live in a pretty populated area. Well, out with the old and in with the new. (Are you seeing a theme here?) After many years the mall is being torn down to make way for a new multi-use shopping and living area. It will eventually include restaurants, shops (including a Sprouts food market), a movie theater, apartments, and a hotel. On Saturday the developers are throwing a demolition party. So as the wrecking crew begins to level the building, neighbors can celebrate and cheer as it crumbles to the ground. Music. Food. Friends. Bulldozers. Sounds like a party to me! Hallie and I have two projects to finish. She is making holders for my race medals and Brett’s beer medals. (Yes, he is an award winning home brewer!) She just needs to put on the finishing touches. Then we are painting a monogram initial that I found on clearance at Michael’s. We are going to attach it to a burlap ribbon and hang it on the front door. Unless it’s a Pinterest fail. Then it’s going in the garage. Until it’s time to clean out the closets and clear the clutter again. In a few months. Maybe this winter.
