Weekend Playlist: August 14-16

School 2

We are back to school here in Tennessee. I can’t believe summer is over. But I am excited because that means we are this much closer to football, changing leaves, pumpkins, and our next trip to Walt Disney World! I am spending part of this weekend finalizing our fall break trip plans. We are on a schedule now, too, so I need to get Hallie to bed at a reasonable time this weekend. And we’re going to get creative in the kitchen to make her some portable entrees to take for lunch. (My child refuses to eat sandwiches of any kind, so finding things to pack in the lunch box has been a challenge.) Let’s get to the weekend!

Group Half Marathon Training

This is the first official training run of my half marathon training group. We are training for the Zooma Nashville Women’s Half Marathon. We met last Saturday, but it was a 30-minute “fun run” to get the new ladies familiar with the rules of the road, meet our pacers, etc. Tomorrow we start with three miles. I really need to focus on getting my daily runs in this week. It’s time to get serious about training!

Girls Day Out

Brett is going on a hike with his buddies in southeast Tennessee. After my training run on Saturday Hallie and I plan on doing some shopping and trying out a new (to us) restaurant Pollo Tropical. It’s Caribbean themed, so these beach girls cannot wait!

Family Funday

Bike

We don’t have any definite plans yet for Sunday, our “family funday.” Some times no plans are the best plans! We will let the weather dictate what we do. If the weather cooperates, a family bike ride is probably what is in store. We are really into biking the river trail near our home. The main thing is being together and having fun. Then it’s back to school and our routine on Monday.

Playlist:

  • “Where Are We Running?” Lenny Kravitz
  • “Cool for the Summer” Demi Lovato
  • “I Want You to Want Me” Cheap Trick
  • “Get Lucky” Daft Punk featuring Parrell Williams
  • “Congregation” Foo Fighters(If that’s not an eclectic selection of songs, I don’t know what is!)

So what’s on your weekend playlist? Let me know in the comments below.
