Tuesdays on the Run: New month. New goal.


It’s a new month. Time for a new routine. A new commitment. A new goal. This week I am linking up with host bloggers April from Run the Great Wide Somewhere, Patty from My No-Guilt Life, and Erika from MCM Mama Run (check out their blogs, I know you will love them) for a free topic Tuesdays on the Run. That means we’re all posting about different topics. Me? I’m writing about starting over.

I am getting back into half marathon training mode. I officially begin a new training program this Saturday with Fleet Fleet Nashville. We are training for the Zooma Nashville Women’s Half Marathon on November 8.

ZoomaI am excited. And nervous. Excited to be part of a group again. Frankly, I need the motivation. Nervous to again start training. To meet new people. To come out of my comfort zone. Part of this training includes a Wednesday cross training class, in addition to our weekly Saturday long runs. Frankly, that has me a little scared.

It’s good to have a new goal. Something to work for. On November 8, I hope to cross the finish line. (And get a time that will get me into a faster corral for the Princess Half Marathon in February.) I hope I to make some new running friends. I hope to become a better runner.

  1. I am starting something new, not this month (I’m still in training for Tupelo, a hot Labor Day 1/2 marathon in Mississippi) but in September I’ll begin training for my first marathon! It will be a Disney marathon at that! I’m like you excited and nervous all balled up in one!

  2. I did the Nashville Women’s Half last September. It was a great city, but very warm! The Fleet Feet here does a lot of group runs but they just aren’t convenient for my schedule so I go solo. You will enjoy being part of a group. Good luck on your training!
