Running on Empty

Hello. It’s me.

The beginning lyrics to Adelle’s new song (which I am obsessed with, by the way!) could easily apply to my blog. I have been pretty non-existent in October. Everything is OK. I’ve just had a lot going on this month.

It started with a life-changing Catholic retreat I attended in late September. If you are Catholic and have an opportunity to attend Cursillo, do so. It is a three day retreat in which you will grow closer to God and find peace. I promise.

The finding peace thing could not have come at a better time. (See how God works…) Between work, our fall break trip to Walt Disney World, house guests, half marathon training, basketball try-outs (Hallie made the team — proud mom here!), and just life in general, I haven’t had much time or energy to write. It’s been a great month and I am blessed beyond belief for everything I just listed. But I have been running on empty, y’all. And my blog has suffered for it.

Disney Halloween

Our fall break trip to Walt Disney World was amazing.

Here is the thing. I started this blog as a hobby. Something fun to do. Something challenging. I wanted to share my experiences as a mom, a runner, and as a Disney fan. I hope you enjoy it. I feel feel guilty when I can’t get around to it. (The guilt thing is difficult for me…) But I am cutting myself some slack. It’s my blog. I am not going to fire myself if I don’t post.

I am vowing to write at least one post a week. And I have some great topics in which to blog and share (many stemming from our amazing trip to Walt Disney World. Hint, hint!).

I am leaving you with a Bible verse I grabbed last week on the way out the door of the YMCA. It sums up my life right now. And this is advice I am faithfully following.

Seek Peace
