I like to run with a group. More often than not, though, I run alone. I carry my iPhone, but just to be safe, I always carry my driver license. In case of an emergency, and I cannot communicate, I want people to know who I am. This sounds simple, right? Not all running clothes have pockets, so something as small as a driver license can actually be difficult to carry. Not to mention, easy to lose!
For years I have wanted a Road ID to wear as identification when running or biking. But I didn’t want another bracelet to wear. With my Fitbit and Garmin already on my wrist, there is not much room for more. And during those runDisney races I am also wearing a Magic Band! So, when I first saw this, I knew it was the perfect solution.
Road ID has created a Safety Cuff that you simply slip on or off your Fitbit device. Road ID makes these for both the Fitbit Flex and Fitbit Force. Genius!
You customize the Road ID with up to five lines of information. Mine includes name and year of birth/husband’s name and phone number/sister’s name and phone number/”No Known Allergies”/”Smile and Finish Strong” (Something I always say to myself when I finish a race).
Once the cuff is on and you secure the Fitbit, you can slide it back over the clasp. Or I discovered (by not initially reading the directions) that it will fit all the way up near the light indicator.
If you want to purchase a Road ID for your Fitbit or any other Road ID product, use the links on this page. I get $10 Road ID credit for every order. But then you will get the same deal!
Stay safe, smile, and finish strong!
